BRICS’s YOUNG SCIENTISTS MEETING IN BENGALURU

BRICS system under the ministry of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India is arranged a five days young scientist meeting in a Bengaluru.

About this meeting:

A group of 50 young scientist from BRICS countries will coordinated in bengaluru to give more attention on following themes,

The meeting is useful for provide a platform for engaging, connecting and networking among young scientists to hold discussions and find solutions to common challenges and problems being faced in BRICS countries.

 

ISRO’s LONGEST PSLV LAUNCHED

 

 Indian Space Research Organization successfully launched PSLV C-35 rocket carrying a total number of eight satellites into two different orbit from Sathish Dawan space centre at Sriharikota.

Key features:

India’s 37th Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV C-35), 8 satellites which inclludes SCATSAT-1, PRATHAM, PISAT, ALSAT-1B, ALSAT-2B, ALSAT-IN, NLS-19 and Pathfinder-1into polar sun synchronous orbit (SSO).

371 kg SCATSAT-1 is used for ocean and weather related services through wind – vector products.

PRATHAM would estimate the total number of electrons with resolution of 1km * 1km location grid which was designed by the IIT – Bombay students.

PISAT would explore remote sensing applications which was designed by PES university students in Bengaluru.

Satellites from Algeria are ALSAT – 1B is an earth observation satellite, ALSAT – 2B is a remote sensing satellite and ALSAT -1N is a technology demonstrator.

NLS – 19 from canada and PATHFINDER-1 from USA.

WORLD’s LARGEST RADIO TELESCOPE IN CHINA

The Five hundred meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST), world’s largest radio telescope launched by china.

About this telescope:

It is placed Pingtang country in southwest China’s Guizhou Province.

FAST is used for searching for signals from stars and galaxies and extra terrestrial life.

SWACH BHARAT WEEK

The Central government organise a Swachh Bhart week started from sep 25, to week long cleanliness across the country.

Key features:

It is being organised for celebrate the second anniversary of SWACHH BHARAT MISSION which was launched on october 2, 2014.

And also this drive is celebrated in the memory of birth centenary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay who is a political scientist.

AFRICAN ELEPHANT POPULATION DECLINED

International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), reported that African elephant populaion declined because of plummeting numbers on poaching.

Habitat loss is also increasingly threatening the species.

 TAMIL NADU RANKED TOP IN INTERNATIONAL REMITTANCES

The money sent by migrants to home is called INTERNATIONAL REMITTANCES, having 14% of  Tamil Nadu’s gross state domestic product in 2015 is almost three times the national average.

The Western Union, the world’s biggest money transfer firm relesed these data about remittances.
